The concept of an Enoteca dates back to Roman times when it was simply a country wine bar where local wines could be drunk and purchased. Also available were small plates of regional food or fresh produce from the farm prepared in the Enoteca kitchen by the family or wife of the host, very often using old family recipes and methods. The wine always remained at centre stage however, and the food was there to make them shine.

The Enoteca at Vin Alto is modelled on this ancient style and our lunches and dinners are designed to present our range of Italian style wines with a selection of food tastes which complement the wines and the liqueurs in a setting which is informal and at the same time informative. Produce and meats grown on the farm or locally sourced are used and all is freshly prepared in the Vin Alto kitchen, which is situated in the heart of the Vin Alto vineyards.
